About us – from the early days to present day
McCormick’s Cafe Espresso & Sandwich Bar combines a twist of traditional cafe style eating with a modern style of ‘European dining’, creating a relaxing ambience in comfortable surroundings.
McCormick’s began life as a cafe in 1987, with owners Peter and Wendy at the forefront of the business. Since then, there have been many notable changes, such as the take away sandwich bar.
All of our sandwiches are made to order on real French baguettes and other breads with home made mixes.
Peter and Wendy McCormick’s son, John, spent his early years helping in the business, and when the business grew enough to open other outlets, John McCormick became the Operations Director. He still maintains an interest in the company, assisting from time to time, especially with design work – a subject in which he excels.
At our customers’ request, we added the corporate and private outside catering section.
We, at McCormick’s, like to think of our customers as friends, many who have been with us since the day our doors opened – some as children who now bring their own children to visit us.
We always try to cater for all needs which shows in our new menus, with gluten-free sweet and savoury crepes and gluten-free pasta.
McCormick’s enjoy making Scones and baking cakes, such as Rhubarb and Custard, Victoria Sponge cakes, Ginger cakes, Mint Chocolate cakes, and the ever popular Carrot Cake – to name a few.
Peter is also noted for his making of soups from the exotic to the every day favourites. Why not ask him to make your favourite?
